Jill Nabena, founder of AcceleratED, established the consulting firm after a decade in education to address the pressing need for equitable access to technology and resources in classrooms. Recognizing the challenges teachers face in navigating the overwhelming array of tools and resources, Jill shifted her focus from designing acceleration programs for advanced learners to empowering educators with practical strategies for integrating innovative technology. AcceleratED is now committed to bridging the gap between what's available and what’s used, ensuring teachers and students benefit from meaningful, future-ready learning experiences.
Jill Nabena, founder of AcceleratED, established the consulting firm after a decade of experience in education. She recognized the niche need for students who surpassed standard curriculum offerings and wrote and implemented a streamlined acceleration process for the top school district in Colorado. This led her to find a solution for schools to support math students who had hyper-accelerated beyond their schools' offerings.
Jill’s commitment to education goes beyond the classroom. After living in Cape Town and witnessing the hardships in the townships, she decided to dedicate a portion of her works' proceeds to bring education—what she believes to be a solution to the cycle of poverty—to these communities.
Jill holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Texas State University and a Master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Arkansas State University. Her academic background, combined with specialized training in gifted education, equips her with a unique skill set to effectively support and empower advanced learners.
With experience teaching in diverse settings across Texas, Missouri, Colorado, and South Africa, Jill has employed evidence-based practices, culturally responsive teaching, and project-based learning to foster rigorous, differentiated, and student-centered environments. Recognized for her expertise, she has mentored new teachers, led student council initiatives, and provided coaching while actively teaching. In her district-wide role, she spearheaded the successful launch of a math program for accelerated students, collaborated on policy development, and championed conceptual understanding over procedural memorization.
